Operational and Customer Service Overview

Operations Team, Latin America

"By providing operational updates for Latin America, we seek to enhance transparency and optimize the information flow, empowering our customers to better manage and supervise the movement of their cargo."

  • Panama Canal update - The lower-than-usual water levels in the Gatun Lake are causing severe draft restrictions on vessels transiting the Panama Canal. This has caused a backlog of traffic waiting to pass through. We are monitoring the journeys of our vessels and will keep you updated with your cargo planning.

Here's an update on payment terms for your shipments to and from Argentina

With your cargo planning in mind, please be informed about the latest developments in the payment modality for imports and exports to and from Argentina. Please take note of the following changes:

Import Shipments:

  • From May 19, 2023, import shipments to Argentina must be paid at the origin (prepaid modality).
This change is due to recent foreign exchange market regulations.

Export Shipments:

  • From June 12, 2023, all export shipments from Argentina will accept payments at the destination country (collect modality).

This measure is in line with the updated foreign exchange market regulations.
To assist with your cargo planning, we have listed below the first vessels to which this change will apply with their Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and the corresponding ports of departure:

  • MV MSC LUSANNE V. 2321N, ETA Buenos Aires, AR June 23, 2023
  • MV MONTE VERDE V. 324N, ETA Buenos Aires, AR June 17, 2023
